Levon Aronian says Anand vs.Gelfand game quite interesting
The 11th round of World Chess Championship between Viswanathan Anand and Boris Gelfand ended in a draw with a 5,5:5,5 score.
Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian said that Anand vs.Gelfand chess battle was quite interesting.
“There were many unexpected moments in the game, the choice of openings, for instance. I had a chance to see the game in person when in Moscow,” the tournament’s official website quoted the player as saying.
Aronian disagreed with Garry Kasparov’s opinion, saying that “for the first time in history of World Chess Championship, the game between a worthy champion and a worthy contender won’t be a chess crown battle.”
According to the grandmaster, “the person to have passed such a difficult selection and to have defended his title for so many years is the strongest player.”
The final round of World Chess Championship is due May 28.
