Russian ''Nezavisimaya gazeta'' (''Independent magazine'') refers to the Caucasian and regional issues quite often. This time the magazine referred to the Russian role in the region.

''Military trainings have started on the Southern part of Russia and in Armenia in frame of the preparations ''Caucasus 2012'' and CSTO ''Cooperation 2012'' programs. Now military technique and equipment is used during the military trainings.''

''The trainings are considered to be planned. But one can guess that the trainings are connected with the sharp problems in Caspian Sea, Iran, Syria and NK issue'', the newspaper writes.

Author of the article quoted words of Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan according whom the forces will be ready during the trainings. According to him the trainings are connected with the CSTO ''Cooperation 2012'' and Russian program '''Caucasus 2012''.

''When Russian militants visit Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan become at least cautious'', the author writes.

Caspian Navy is also included in the trainings. According to the newspaper more ships will be added to the Navy in future and they will increase the readiness of the Navy.

“So Russian authorities pay much attention to the strength in Caspian region and in Caucasus. Moscow tries to strengthen its forces there by any measures and of course there is no word about the disarmament of the region”, the newspaper concludes.
