Russian gas supplies to Armenia will be temporarily suspended on Friday from 19.00 because of the damage to the gas pipeline North-South in Georgia, the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation told Trend today.

Gas leak on the gas pipeline was registered in Saguramo district, Mtskheta- Tianeti region in eastern Georgia.

Restoration work will be conducted by the operator of the gas pipeline "Georgian gas transportation company". Gas supply will be restored immediately after the damage is removed.

The Armenian side has been warned about suspension.

The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation stressed that Georgia will face no problems with gas supply in connection with the damage as Georgia receives gas from Azerbaijan. It is not connected with a gas pipeline.
