Medvedev elected United Russia's chairman

Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has been elected the chairman of the
United Russia party.

The election of the party's Chairman,  governing bodies, as well as making
amendments to the party charter  feature prominently on the agenda of the
party's 13th congress, which is  underway in Moscow today, Armenpress reports
citing "The Voice of  Russia".
More than 3,000 delegates and guests are in attendance.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev joined the party ranks several  days ago
to become Russia's first affiliated Prime Minister.
Speaking at the congress on Saturday Medvedev proposed to conduct  United
Russia's internal reform and to introduce an unprecedented level  of democracy
within its ranks.
